Learn about the nature of our coastal forest and its climax species the magnificent live oak, Georgia’s state tree, on this beautiful riverside walk. Visit members of the Live Oak Society which limits its membership to oak trees larger than 25-feet in circumference. You’ll see 500-year-old trees the King of England once prized for ship building, and you’ll walk amid the ancient oak grove that was left behind when timbers were cut for “Old Ironsides,” the USS Constitution.
