APRIL

Saturday, April 1st

  • 1:15 – 3:15 p.m. Kayaking. $40, guests $32
    We welcome paddlers 12 years-old & up who can swim. No experience required. All equipment & basic instruction included.

Sunday, April 9th – Wednesday, April 12th: 267th ANNIVERSARY OF SPRINGFIELD PLANTATION AND 51st ANNIVERSARY OF STEVENS MARSH BEING NAMED A STATE HERITAGE SITE

Sunday, April 9th

  • 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. Afternoon walk through history on Springfield and Palmyra Plantations. Topic: marsh conservation. $7.50
  • 8:00 – 9:30 p.m. Full moon paddle. The first moonlit kayak trip of the year is not one to miss. Really beautiful and different. $40 (guests $32)
    We welcome paddlers 12 years-old & up who can swim. No experience required. All equipment & basic instruction included.

Tuesday, April 11th

  • 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. SPRINGFIELD’S BIRTHDAY. Springfield Plantation was granted to our family by King George II on this date in 1755. We’re celebrating its birthday and that it is still as lovely as it was so many years ago. Walking tours and refreshments. $7.50

Wednesday, April 12th

  • 10:00 – 12:00 p.m. STEVENS’ MARSH was dedicated to conservation on this date in 1966 by John P. Stevens. Learn about the crisis that made this contribution so important. And discover the fascinating contribution marshes have made throughout history. One-hour walking tour along the river edge followed by refreshments at Palmyra Barn. $7.50

Saturday, April 15th

  • 11:15 – 1:15 p.m. DISCOVER THE STEVENS MARSH BY kayak. Paddle through our amazing coastal marsh and learn about how it enriches our lives. $40 (guests $32)
    We welcome paddlers 12 years-old & up who can swim. No experience required. All equipment & basic instruction included.
  • 1:30- 3:30 p.m. See how American Indians and early settlers used marshes to survive and try your hand at making marsh-incorporated practical things for daily life. $15, snacks are available.

Sunday, April 16th

  • 10:00 – 12:00 p.m EASTER SUNDAY brunch and forest walk. Brunch: $20, walk $7.50.

Saturday, April 22nd

  • 6:30 – 9:00 p.m. Sunset paddle followed by a small plate supper al fresco at the pool puts us in a relaxed mood while we await the Lyrids Meteor Shower Peak. $60
    We welcome paddlers 12 years-old & up who can swim. No experience required. All equipment & basic instruction included.

Sunday, April 23rd

  • 7:00 – 9:00 a.m. Sunrise kayaking in the fresh, cool morning. $40

  • 9:30 –11:00 a.m. Sunday Brunch at Palmyra Barn is as delicious as it gets. $20

Saturday, April 29th

  • 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. Kayak tour. $40.

FULL MOON WEEKEND 12TH – 14TH

  • Friday, May 12th 6:00 p.m. A cool, spring dinner al fresco with lantern light and jazz. A delightful way to spend an evening. $20
  • Saturday, May 13th 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. Plantation walk about and garden video. Hors d’oeuvres and conversation at Live Oak Hall. $10
  • Sunday, May 14th 10:00 - 12:00 p.m. Sunday brunch and spring gift shop sale. Discounts 15-25%. Don’t miss it. Sumptuous brunch. $20

Saturday, May 20th

  • 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Enjoy the grand sea breeze that arrives each afternoon while you have refreshments on the river bluff. $10.
  • 6:30 p.m. You can also reserve a cool supper at Palmyra Barn. $20

Saturday, May 27th

  • 11:00 – 1:00 p.m. Share a morning paddle. It’s a great way to enjoy a warm weather weekend. $40 (Guests $32) We welcome paddlers 12 years-old & up who can swim. No experience required. All equipment & basic instruction included.

BULLETINS

  • We have bar service at Palmyra Barn and Live Oak Hall. Hours are posted in those buildings.
  • WEEKEND GUESTS, weather permitting, may enjoy free wagon rides to some of our more distant beautiful vistas. It’s bumpy and it’s fun and we stop for the best views. See posted schedule at Palmyra Barn. We also give free guided walking tours daily and guests enjoy discounts on kayak excursions.
  • Guests staying over two or more nights will receive a 10% discount on room rates during their stay. Guests also may call on us to make dinner suggestions, arrange reservations, or even book an offshore boat trip to the islands.
  • Enjoy a meeting at Dunham Farms, a plantation tour, luncheon or tea with your club, or even small groups outings for 6 or more. We love providing special service and a different and interesting day for our guests. Just ask. We customize for your enjoyment.
